About me:

I’ve always been a bit of an outlier—often misunderstood, and too many times feeling like I didn’t quite fit in. Even within the LGBT and veteran communities, I’ve carried that sense of being on the margins. What I found in the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber, though, was something different: a community where acceptance, inclusion, and understanding aren’t just words, but the foundation of a truly wholesome organization. Here, I’ve found not only professional growth, but also genuine friendship and a safe space where everyone belongs. That’s why I want to give back by serving as Director of Development. This Chamber has given me so much, and I believe it’s my turn to help take it to the next level. I bring the perspective of someone who knows what it feels like to be on the outside, and the passion to ensure no one else has to feel that way here. Members should vote for me because I am committed to building on the Chamber’s spirit of connection, growth, and empowerment for all.

What I want to contribute:

As Director of Development, I want to focus on more than dollars and campaigns—I want to help the Chamber lead with heart in a time when our community needs it most. In today’s political climate, many LGBTQ+ and ally organizations that once had strong corporate DEI backing are now struggling to sustain their work. I believe the Chamber can step into that gap, not only by raising resources, but by building bridges and partnerships that allow us to give back directly to the local organizations who have always been there for our community. For example, we could identify nonprofits and grassroots groups whose funding has been cut and work alongside them—whether through joint fundraising events, shared volunteer opportunities, or mentorship and business support from Chamber members. Imagine a scholarship or micro-grant program fueled not just by sponsors, but by collaborations that uplift our most vulnerable members, from youth entrepreneurs to trans-led initiatives. My hope is to contribute to a Chamber that doesn’t just grow in size, but grows in compassion, visibility, and impact—showing that in the face of challenge, we rise together.
